When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.

This school year does not seem to wait for anyone. December is almost gone, I cannot believe the year is half way over already. Second quarter finished as we went into the break. Wow. I don't even know where the time has gone. One minute I am trying to get through first quarter and now two quarters are already over.
Things have been going so fast, I feel like I haven't had time to breathe some days. Getting to know the students has been fun and this past quarter, I got to know them real well. If it wasn't memoirs that they were writing, it was careers they were researching. Between the 7th and 8th graders, I learned so much about each and every one of them. It's been a great year so far.
Right after we went on break, I left for Tybee Island. My dad and I are starting new traditions this year. My dad moved to Savannah in September, and this was when we decided we should meet up on the beach. Since then he has moved on to Myrtle Beach, but coming and meeting him here in Savannah has been a wonderful journey.
In the short time he lived here, he learned his way around, the best places to eat and drink. We've had such a great time. While being here, I've learned that being in the warmth for Christmas is something that I've missed the last 15 years living in Ohio. Starting new traditions is always something that I look forward to. This year has definitely been a year of new traditions, and I hope that it continues into the new year.
Merry Christmas from the beach, I hope this year finds everyone healthy and with their family members. Remember the true spirit of Christmas as you celebrate with your loved ones.

Love from this young woman with an old soul.
